2009 – TokiWorld virtual world game
TokiWorld is a virtual playground for kids. It takes isometric representations of real world cities and plays with the idea of “what would happen if the ecosystem were polluted or cleaned?”.
Still in Closed Beta, Steven worked as an employee on this project to setup the game framework, engine, pipelines and systems. The avatar system here is quite extensive, storing the complete avatar timeline information into an array for item swapping before the swf is compiled for quick load times. Built using SmartFox Pro, RoR, MySQL and AMF.
In addition to Steven’s work, the team was sub contracted here to build the networking for a remote multi-player balloon race.
